Petition supporting Option A exceeds 2120 names.

Four Saturdays collecting signatures in support of Option A in the Wharfside Shopping Centre has now yielded 2120 signatures in support of Option A  - these are mainly local people shopping in Penzance who support the scheme. A common refrains was "just get on with it", "nobody uses that beach anyway" and "I don't understand what all the fuss about".

As usual a few objectors took canvassers to task about issues but in general these discussions were courteous even if nobody changed their position.  As with the previous week there was an exception who thought he could achieve more with a threatening rant.  This tactic may have worked for him in the past but it did not work in the Shopping Centre.  The individual involved, perhaps not the sharpest knife in the drawer, failed to spot the Police presentation mounted further up the central walk way and as a result the forces of law and order were on the scene very quickly.  Given the alternatives of leaving or being arrested for a breech of the peace, the individual left.
