Editorial on Option Pz

Following meetings with stakeholders on 1st and 2nd Feb our MP,  with the help from a small team, has  created a new option  for Penzance Harbour- Option Pz.   Virtually nothing has been released about Option Pz except it name    It is to be be promoted by a new  group called the Penzance Business Group  - even less is known about the composition of this group.  With total secrecy about the solution and who
supports it,  Option Pz is increasingly looking like a political stunt rather than a serious
 contributrion to the Harbour debate.

Our MP was told on 5 Jan 10 by Paul Clark MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Transporton,in the Parliamentary debate on  the Scilly link project that " Working up alternative schemes to the one currently presented to the Department is possible but will be time-consuming
and costly for the council to pursue, and there is no guarantee that the complex and hard-won funding arrangement in place today will be available  when a new proposal is tabled" (Hansard 5 Jan 10 Col 42WH).

So what is our MP's response to this advice?  It is to dream up a new option (Option Pipedream) which if taken seriously, cannot avoid delaying the project by 18 months putting the whole project at risk.
Is this to be Andrew George's his legacy  for Penzance?  We deserve better.
